Preparation time: 30 minutes

Serving size: 4

  • 1 packet IBIS Sandwich Baguettes Brioche or IBIS XXL Sandwich Baguettes
  • 4 long bock sausages
  • 2 shallots
  • 1 tbsp. flour
  • 1 tablespoon sunflower oil
  • 1 gherkin
  • 1 egg tomato
  • 4 tbsp ketchup
  • 6 tbsp mayonnaise
  • 4 slices of processed cheese
  • 8 black olives without stone
  • 1 bunch of chives
  • Also:
  • 4 toothpicks

  1. Prepare the IBIS sandwich baguettes. Slowly heat the bock sausages in hot water. Peel the shallots, cut into rings and dust with flour.
  2. Heat the oil in a pan and fry the shallots until golden brown. Chop the gherkin. Wash the tomato, cut out the stem and cut off 4 thin diagonal slices for the tongues. Cut the remaining tomato into thin slices.
  3. Unfold the IBIS sandwich baguettes and spread the insides with ketchup and 4 tablespoons of mayonnaise. The remaining mayonnaise is needed for the eyes, snout and ears. Place the sausage, fried onions, gherkin and tomato on the underside of the baguette. Place the sausage on top so that a part for the tail is sticking out at the back. Fold the baguettes over and press down lightly. Wedge the tomato tongues into the front of the baguettes.
  4. Halve 4 black olives. Place 2 dabs of mayonnaise at the front of each baguette and place half a black olive on top for the eyes. Place another dab of mayonnaise underneath, place 3 stalks of chives on top and press 1 whole olive on each. To hold everything in place, fix with a toothpick.
  5. Cut the slices of processed cheese in half diagonally. Place two triangles on each hot dog directly behind the eyes and fold up, pressing the sides against a little mayonnaise. The real hot dog is ready!
