The Corona pandemic has not left the training market unscathed. Particularly worrying is the sharp decline in applicants that is becoming apparent. This is likely to further increase the practical difficulties many companies have in filling their training places. At the same time, training is also a political issue where the commitment of the business community is regularly at stake and also critically questioned.
Against this background, together with the VUV - Vereinigte Unternehmerverbände Aachen and many other companies as well as employers' associations, we are involved in an action week #NRWirtschaftBildetAus from 7 to 11 June 2021 to draw attention to the diverse training commitment of the North Rhine-Westphalian economy as a whole as well as to our own activities and to promote training. It is important for us to increasingly address young people, also and especially in these times, and to win them over for dual training. It is also important to show the great commitment of the business community to the topic of training, even in these difficult Corona times.
The state-wide campaign week will take place digitally and on social networks around 9 June, the date of the next "Spitzengespräch Ausbildungskonsens" (top-level meeting on training consensus), where the state government, business, trade unions, the Federal Employment Agency and the municipal umbrella organisations will discuss the training situation in the state.
For this reason, we have produced a short video message from our trainee Tim, in which he reports on his motivation to complete an apprenticeship in our company. The video will be available from 7 June on our Youtube account as well as on that of unternehmer nrw and in our social media channels. The VUV will also publish the video on its channels.
