Repeated IFS certification to “advanced quality”

IBIS GmbH took part very successfully in the International Featured Standards (IFS) Broker independent audit for the fifth consecutive time in March 2010 – and, just like in the previous year, it achieved the best possible certification result of “advanced quality.”

The rules and regulations of the IFS were developed by leading national and international retailers for the assessment of manufacturing companies. IFS certification is regarded as one of the most demanding standards in the food industry. The standards ultimately aim to offer the consumer food stuffs of the highest quality.

The audit assesses the quality management system and the responsibility of the management board with regard to the further development of the quality system. Further important content includes a reliable supplier selection, the documentation and transparency of all operational processes, the correct specification of the products, as well as the declaration of ingredients and the complete traceability of all products.

For IBIS, the positive result of the audit is a consequence of a quality policy that has been established for several years and towards which all corporate decisions in the company are orientated. When it comes down to it, all these measures also serve to guarantee the biggest possible product security for the consumers and to strengthen their trust in IBIS baked goods. For IBIS, it is therefore a matter of course to undergo regular IFS quality audits.

IBIS Quality Manager Mirko Schulze (photo) sees in the IFS one of the most important and most recognised marks of quality in the food industry: “The standards developed by independent experts offer an additional transparency for all business partners and, through that, security with regard to the production and distribution of foodstuffs.”
