For four days – from 30th January until 2nd February 2011 – the international confectionary industry presented itself in Cologne and thus met the taste of the approximately 32,000 visitors (2010: 30,871) who travelled to Cologne from almost 150 countries.
“With this trade fair, rich in contacts, the ISM has clearly emphasised its significance as the most important international platform for trade in confectionary products and snacks”, said Gerald Böse, Chairman of the Management Board of the trade fair in Cologne. “More internationality, a high quality of visitors, direct access to the market: these are the undisputed strengths of the ISM.”
1,494 providers from 64 countries demonstrated a comprehensive and international overview of sweets and snacks again this year. The proportion of foreign exhibitors was 82 percent. For the first time, ISM presented a partner country, Turkey, which promoted itself successfully with a strong performance. The ISM was opened by the German Minister for Economic Affairs, together with the Turkish Minister of State for Foreign Trade, M. Zafer Çağlayan.
Annual participation in the sector’s leading trade fair is indispensible for IBIS GmbH too. In hall 3.2, in a generous 144 sqm presentation area, the company presented new products, as well as its established product range and the well-known classics.

“The need for discussions was particularly high this year because of the tense raw materials situation and the increased energy costs. Nevertheless, our new products guarantee attention from our customers and show that we can introduce new, international dimensions to the bread shelf with these innovations”, claimed Michael Brungs, Buying
& Quality Manager of IBIS GmbH after the trade fair.
