‘A packed lunch for every child’. The association "breakfast4kids" acts according to this motto and supports primary schools in Aachen, in which over a period of time packed lunches are provided free of charge. The sandwiches are prepared according to strict nutritional guidelines.
 
With a healthy breakfast, as well as a packed lunch, the child’s energy supplies, which were emptied during the night, are replenished and, thus, the child is well equipped for lessons.

‘The number of families in poverty is clearly rising, and there is hardly a school in the region that has not recognised this problem. This shows that it is not an anomoly when, for financial reasons, children arrive in school not having eaten breakfast and without bringing a packed lunch with them’, explains Achim Monnartz, Chairman of breakfast4kids.
 
For this reason, IBIS GmbH in Würseln announced that it was prepared to introduce a campaign during Carneval in connection with breakfast4kids in 10 schools within the region, and so support nearly 2500 children. On this occasion, the pupils have been provided with a ‘sweet packed lunch’ thanks to IBIS Kinder croissants and, at the same time, enjoyed a good start at the carneval.

The praiseworthy distribution took place on Thursday, February 11th, at 
Schönforst primary school in Aachen with dressed up children in attendance. Also present was Aachen’s  Kinderprinz (‘Carneval Children’s Price’), who provided a good atmosphere for the children early in the morning.
 
”Social interaction is an important aspect of our corporate culture and we are conscious of this fact, which is why we have announced our willingness to support this  campaign, even though our assistance can only contribute partially towards satisfying the child’s basic needs” stated Dietmar Halterbeck, Managing Director of IBIS GmbH.
